A World Record Will be Broken (We Hope) at Every STUNT LAB, Part of Canal Park Playhouse’s Classic Brunch Matinee series

Canal Park Playhouse is thrilled to present the world premiere of STUNT LAB, created and performed by Mark Heyward and Jonathan Burns. STUNT LAB begins performances on Saturday, March 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, April 1. Performances take place at Canal Park Playhouse (508 Canal Street, between Greenwich and West Streets in Tribeca). The performance schedule is Saturdays and Sundays at 1 PM & 4 PM. The regular ticket price is $20. For tickets or more information, call OvationTix on 1-866-811-4111 or visit www.canalparkplayhouse.com.

Yo-yo champ Mark Hayward and celebrated contortionist Jonathan Burns team up for STUNT LAB, putting their madness to the test in the wackiest laboratory in world. Using everyday objects and their own ingenuity, this duo creates dangerous, amazing and wild experiments sure to please thrill seekers of all ages as they scientifically attempt “The Greatest Stunt of All Time.”

A Guinness Book of World Records will be broken at every show (we hope)! Kids ages 5 to 105, prepare to be awed!

Mark Hayward and Jonathan Burns’ skills have been seen on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Jay Leno Show, America’s Got Talent, and The NBC Nightly News. Their talents have taken them to stages across the United States, China, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and even exotic New Jersey.

Part of Canal Park Playhouse’s Classic Brunch matinee series, brunch at the theater’s Waffle Iron café is available before and after the show. The brunch menu includes hot-off-the-waffle-iron spinach, mushroom, smoked chicken sausage frittatas; French toast; and Traditional Belgian Waffles with pure Vermont maple syrup and butter as well as the house specialty The Playhouse Pink Waffle (a pink waffle with strawberries and whipped cream). New menu additions include a chocoholic fantasy, the Decadent Dark Chocolate Waffle, entree salads and sliders.

Mark Hayward (creator/performer) has been a variety arts performer since 1990. He is a World Yo-yo Champion, a member of a World Champion Juggling Team, and a Spintop Champion. His mom is proud. Mark has traveled the world with a yo-yo on his finger (well, mostly in his pocket), and has made appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, America’s Got Talent, and the NBC Nightly News (without committing a crime). Someday Mark hopes to perform for both the President and the Queen. Not being a convicted criminal should help with that.

Jonathan Burns (creator/performer) always thought he was “special.” He was the kind of kid who would put his leg over his head at the family reunion or perform musical armpit farts to impress the girls. In 2004, contorting his body and impressing people with his unusual talents became his full-time job. Since then he has performed at over 200 colleges & universities, at festivals across the US, Canada, China, & New Zealand, and was recently featured on the Jay Leno Show. When he’s not performing he can usually be found in an airport terminal or spending time with his lovely wife. (I guess the armpit farts worked!)
