ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP PROMOTES GABRIELLE PELUSO TO GENERAL MANAGER, DEF JAM RECORDINGS

Island Def Jam Music Group (IDJMG) has strengthened its executive management team with the promotion of Gabrielle Peluso to General Manager, Def Jam Recordings, it was announced today by Steve Bartels, President & COO, Island Def Jam Music Group.

Based in New York, Ms. Peluso will be responsible for Def Jam’s day-to-day activities, scheduling, and organization on behalf of its artists. She will report directly to Mr. Bartels.

“Gabby is a seasoned veteran at IDJ,” said Mr. Bartels, “whose experience in Video Promotion put her in daily contact with the entire artist roster, as well as the key media who play such important roles in exposing our music to the public. For more than a decade, Gabby’s energy and creativity have helped keep Island Def Jam in the forefront of the industry, and we know that she will bring all her talent to bear in her new role as GM.”

“I have spent my entire career at Def Jam, and it is undeniably the most important brand in urban music,” said Ms. Peluso. “The goal for this label is, and always has been, to uphold the culture of hip-hop music by breaking new artists and supporting the vision of our superstars. With the leadership of Barry Weiss and Steve Bartels, and the hard work of our passionate and committed staff, I am confident we will continue to push this great brand forward.”

Ms. Peluso has served as Senior Vice President, Video Promotions, Island Def Jam Music Group, since 2006, where she was responsible for securing video airplay on MTV, BET, VH1, The Fuse, and MTV2 for all Island Def Jam Artists and their respective ventures. In addition, she booked all programs available on each music video channel including various awards shows. Her duties also included overseeing all local video outlets as well as college video outlets. Prior to that, she spent two years as Vice President, Video Promotions, since 2004, following a three year stint as Director in the department.

Ms. Peluso began her music career in 1996, as assistant to the former president of Def Jam Recordings. The next year she moved to the Publicity Department, where she served as Director until 2000. Ms. Peluso graduated from Syracuse University in 1994, with the Bachelor Of Arts Degree in Communications.
