2011 witnessed a spate of videos from Cris Cab exploding across YouTube, including his cover of Wiz Khalifa’s “Black & Yellow” in February, a cover of Kanye West’s “All Of The Lights” in March, the original version of “Good Girls” in April, and a cover of Foster The People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” in September.  (Please see YouTube links listed below.)

In January 2012, Cris released his debut mixtape Echo Boom, featuring collaborations with Wyclef, Pharrell, Movado, Melanie Fiona, and Marc Roberge of O.A.R.  At a Miami club date celebrating the release of Echo Boom, Cris was joined onstage by Wyclef for a live version of one of the mixtape’s tracks, “Rihanna’s Gun.”  The resulting YouTube live video of “Rihanna’s Gun” has drawn 690,000 views to date.  Cris Cab’s videos have also been seen on Artistdirect.com, Billboard.com, Cambio.com, Complex.com, EW.com, Fader.com, Perezhilton.com, and USMagazine.com.

Prior to Echo Boom, Cris released his Forward EP in June 2011, and completed a hugely successful 13-city tour in support.  At this early stage of his career, his tour-mates have included T-Pain, Gym Glass Heroes, O.A.R., and Matisyahu, among others.  Major dates in 2012 include the SXSW (South By Southwest) Music Conference in Austin, Texas, and the Bamboozle Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

The son of first generation Cuban immigrants, Cris Cab is a natural-born singer who picked up the guitar at age 11, and began writing and recording his own songs on a 4-track machine he acquired at age 14.  Influenced by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Buju Banton, Sting, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder (to name a few), Cris was “discovered” four years ago by Pharrell, now one of his biggest boosters.  “I knew from the moment he grabbed his guitar and sang that first note,” Pharrell recalls, “that with the proper nurturing, that kid had it.  He is merely warming up.  This kid is just getting started.”
