Now in its 7th year, The NY Clown Theatre Festival is New York’s preeminent annual, international Clown Theatre festival. This year’s event includes 34 shows in 24 days with over 150 clown performers from 16 countries including Finland, Mexico, France, New Zealand, and Wales.
The festival also features classes taught by world-famous clown teachers, a clown-sourced iPhone-created silent film project and a performance by the co-creator and lead performer of Cirque de Soleil’s Ovo! The Brick Theater, Inc. brings the festival back this fall, performing September 7th–30th at The Brick in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Subway Parade
Meet at Union Square in Manhattan at 5:30pm on September 7.
Clown noses will be provided.
All ages!
Put on your finest stripes and polka-dots and join us for the opening day parade! We’ll march, unicycle, juggle, roller boogie, and pratfall around Union Square. Then we’ll turn the L train into the ultimate clown car, and pop back out at the Bedford stop for general communing with the Williamsburg hipsteratti. We’ll continue the ruckus down Bedford Avenue, stopping for photo ops at McCarren Park Running Track and outdoor gym where clowns will train for the 2012 Clown Olympics. After training, the parade will conclude at The Brick, home of the festival, where a massive public pie fight will ensue.
Pie Fight
Audience-participatory Pie Fight takes place at The Brick on September 7.
Fight will take place between 6:30pm and 9pm at The Brick.
Pies will be provided.
All ages!
At the pie fight, toss, whirl, fling, slip and slide around the ring to your heart’s content or just watch and laugh while the fools go at it. The Brick is our playground and our battleground!

At 10pm, the Free Preview Cabaret begins. Line up early as seats will fill up!
