A demented twist on a terrifying tragedy, The Crook Theater Company’s MACBETH mines the Scottish play for deep horror and dark comedy. The troubled thane and his fiend-like queen let nothing stand in the way of becoming the last men standing. This gender-bending adaptation highlights most frightening aspects of Shakespeare’s story, setting the play in a bleak future full of violence and betrayal, and devoid of hope. Demons, witches, zombies, and bloody murder make this the perfect Halloween treat!
MACBETH marks the third production for young The Crook Theater Company, following The House of Yes in 2008 and Plunge in 2011.
The cast features Teddy Alvaro, Jacob Cribbs. Marisa Duchowny, Daniel K. Isaac, Benjamin Kahre, Dan Morrison, Lloyd Mulvey, Richard Prioleau, Ed Renninger, and Max Rosenak.
The creative team includes Dan Rousseau (lighting design); Roy Howington (set design); PK Pickens (sound design); Dan Morrison (costume & makeup design); and Jay Marks (animation). The production stage manager is Whitney Dearden.
