Nintendo 3DS Owners Let Fashion, Fun and Customization Run Wild in Two New Titles

Sparkle Snapshots 3D Launches Oct. 18; Style Savvy: Trendsetters Coming Oct. 22

Nintendo is about to launch two new games for the Nintendo 3DS system that let players show off their unique sense of style. Sparkle Snapshots 3D, which gives users a ton of cool tools that they can use to decorate their 2D photos with 3D elements, will be available Oct. 18 exclusively as a download from the Nintendo eShop* for $5.99. On Oct. 22, Style Savvy: Trendsetters invites players to manage their own virtual clothing boutiques and connect with other budding fashionistas using the wireless Internet features of Nintendo 3DS. Style Savvy: Trendsetters will be available in stores or from the Nintendo eShop at a suggested retail price of $39.99.

“Everyone loves to customize their video game experiences, and these two software titles put players fully in charge,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Players can learn about managing their own fashion empires or have fun decorating their favorite photos and sharing them with friends.”

Sparkle Snapshots 3D gives users a huge supply of cool decorations they can use to make their 2D photos look even more awesome – or, if they choose, more ridiculous. It’s easy to use the touch screen to add frames, ribbons and stickers, or to draw on photos with a variety of pens using the Nintendo 3DS stylus. In addition to fun backgrounds and frames for the photos, the software includes new decorations like colored contacts, eyelashes and makeup, plus 3D items such as snacks, toys, flowers and jewels that can be rotated and viewed at any angle. Users can also share their creations in a number of ways. They can send photos to nearby friends who have Sparkle Snapshots 3D using a local wireless connection, or copy their pictures onto an SD Card (sold separately) and then print them, share them or post them online. The in-game Sparkle SnapShop will give users access to even more trendy items to customize their photos. Additional downloadable content, such as a Mario-themed set, will be available in the future.

Style Savvy: Trendsetters lets players express their unique sense of style by stocking and operating their very own fashion boutiques. They can even design the look of their shops and choose from more than 12,000 clothing items and accessories to keep their clients happy. Players will learn to keep their inventory fresh and make sure they cater to their customers’ needs, as happy customers mean more sales. For the first time in the Style Savvy series, the shop also includes bags, purses and menswear. Players can also use the AR Photo Shoot feature to create images that blend characters, motions and music from the game with real-world surroundings. Fashion Plaza lets players visit and shop at the boutiques of other players from North America and Europe*.

For players who want to sample the fun of Style Savvy: Trendsetters before they buy the full game, Nintendo will offer two free demos in the Nintendo eShop:

The Shopping Spree Demo (available Nov. 1): Players can try on selected items from their closets and visit the Fashion Plaza to check out ensembles that other players have created. They can obtain outfits they like using in-game funds. Once players buy the full game, they can transfer their demo save data.
The Fashion Contest Demo (available now): Users create an outfit based on a contest theme and compete with in-game rivals for the fashion crown.
Remember that Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL feature parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about this and other features, visit http://www.nintendo.com/3ds.
