Behind the Song: Former Eagles’ Guitarist Don Felder Discusses ‘Hotel California’

Review Fix chats with former Eagles guitarist Don Felder, who breaks down how the music for the legendary song was written.

A bookend in Rock and Roll history, Felder, in addition to writing the tunes of “Hotel California,” taught another rock legend, Tom Petty, how to play the six-string. He’s also written songs for classic films such as “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and “Heavy Metal.” His new album, “Road to Forever,” is already making waves as the first single, “Fall from the Grace of Love,” appeared on last week’s episode of the Showtime hit-show, “Homeland.”
