Our Ten Best: Wrestlers in the World Today

Out of the top three companies in professional wrestling today, WWE, TNA, and ROH, ten men have proved themselves to be the best in the business. In a time where look and size captivates an audience, we often forget about how amazing these men are in the ring.

10: John Cena: The face of the WWE. He has won the WWE title 10 times, the World heavyweight title twice and is a former United States, World Tag Team Champion, Royal Rumble Money in the Bank winner. But his skills still lack in the ring. His moves are boring. He has not spiced up his moveset in years.

9: Jeff Hardy: One of the craziest high flyers that wrestling has ever seen, Hardy has made an impact everywhere he has gone, winning the main title in both WWE and in TNA. He has battled drug addictions on several different occasions and has come back perhaps stronger than ever. He is no longer a tag team specialist.

8: AJ Styles: He is the face of TNA. The company may have Sting, Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy, but Styles has been there since day one. He is a grand slam champion in TNA and even as he gets older, he can still show off why he made the X-Division as popular as it was. While he’s more of a mid-carder now, he can still steal the show.

7: Kurt Angle: Age is catching up to Angle, but he’s like fine wine. The former Olympic gold medalist, grand slam champion in the WWE, TNA world champion, is still going strong at 43. He is still a master at technical wrestling. The Ankle Lock is still one of the deadliest submissions in wrestling.

6: Bully Ray: The Bully has earned his way to this spot. From being the heavier guy in the Dudley Boyz/Team 3D, since becoming a singles wrestler, Bully has found his calling. Dropping the weight and becoming much more flexible in the ring, he moves around a lot better and puts on better matches. He can do the occasional fly out of the ring, but inside, he can take over a match and make you love him or hate him. A world title should be coming his way soon.

5: Dolph Ziggler: A former world heavyweight champion for literally a second, Ziggler has gone from cheerleader, to Kerwin White’s caddy, to top heel in WWE. His moves are as cool in the ring as the hair on his head. The Money In The Bank winner is one of the rising stars in WWE. He makes a name for himself every week on TV. The former US Champion is so close to a reign as World Champion you can taste it.

4: Kevin Steen: He is one of the best big men in wrestling. The pride and joy of Ring of Honor, he has become one of the best champions in the company’s history. He’s an athletic superstar who is a bit of a high flyer. He is not afraid to do any kind of move. He makes sure the crowd goes home happy. The foul-mouthed champion is not one for PG TV.

3: Daniel Bryan: Technical wrestling at its finest. The former ROH champion has come a long way in a decade. He rarely ever makes a mistake in the ring. He is easily one of the better submission wrestlers in the game today and is one of the top performers in the WWE. You can’t say “NO” to that.

2: CM Punk: The self-proclaimed best wrestler in the world. He has established himself as the top performer in WWE, not only by his actions in the ring, but his actions on the mic, too.

1: Austin Aries: Like Daniel Bryan, he has come a long way from main-eventing Evolve from BB King’s restaurant in New York, to getting rejected from WWE for Tough Enough in 2011, to becoming a TNA world champion. Aries has it all. The former X-Division and TNA World champion, Aries is the master of one of the most vicious moves in the sport.
