TNA Power Rankings: York Time, Again

It was Open Fight Championship Night this week on Impact, or whatever they call it. Either way, people are getting called out and championship matches were made.

Here’s who made their mark.

5: Mickie James: With her return last week, Mickie won the Knockouts’ #1 contender’s spot. This week, she won the curtain jerker against Gail Kim. While the division begins to pick up steam again, hopefully Mickie can light even more of a fire under the Impact women.

4: Wes Brisco: By now, everyone should know who Brisco is. After he beat Garret Bischoff last week in his Gut Check, Brisco was awarded his TNA contract. Nothing but good can come from a boy named Brisco.

3: Joey Ryan/Matt Morgan: These two have made a quick mark on the tag division and their personalities sync wonderfully. Morgan is finally the brawling monster he needs to be and Ryan told Christy Hemme to make him a sandwich.

2: Austin Aries: The Greatest Man That Ever Lived only comes in at second because he’s mired in the middle of some silly relationship storyline with Bully Ray & Brooke Hogan. Aries turn to full heel has allowed him to exude the snark that he had in ROH. That should prove to be quite enjoyable for fans unfamiliar with his work.

1: Christian York: York is finally getting every chance he has deserved for 15 years. A great Gut Check match against to a TNA contract and now, he throws himself into the middle of the Hardy/Roode program, coming to Hardy’s defense as Roode trash talked him. Though he lost their subsequent match, York’s stock continues to rise.
