NBC SPORTS PARTNERS WITH ICONIC BRITISH BRANDS L.K. BENNETT, INTERCONTINENTAL AND THOMAS PINK IN ADVANCE OF THE 2013 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE KICKOFF

Iconic London Taxis Wrapped in Premier League Logos to Make Appearances at New York Locations

In advance of the 2013 English Premier League season kickoff, scheduled for Saturday, August 17, NBC Sports has brought iconic London taxis to New York City and partnered with prominent British brands: L.K. Bennett, Intercontinental Barclay Hotel and Thomas Pink. The network is celebrating its first season as the exclusive television partner of the English Premier League with a number of special events and will air all 380 games this season via digital and/or TV.

Each of the eight London taxis will be wrapped in different Premier League team logos and encourage New Yorkers to “Pick a Side.”

Fans and general public can catch a glimpse of the taxis around town and have a chance to get a free ride by participating in any of the events below.

L.K. BENNETT: NBC Sports is partnering with British women’s retailer L.K. Bennett to co-host a private, in-store shopping event at their Time Warner Center location. The event will be held on Thursday, August 15th, from 6-8 p.m. and VIP shoppers will enjoy 20% off all purchases and a chance to win a ride home in an NBC Sports Premier League authentic London taxi. The event will be catered with prosecco and desserts, and NBC Sports will be playing English Premier League highlights for the sports lovers in the crowd.

INTERCONTINENTAL BARCLAY HOTEL: NBC Sports is partnering with the Intercontinental Barclay Hotel in midtown to offer free transportation for hotel guests in a Premier League authentic London taxi wrapped in Premier League team logos. The taxis will be available to guests on August 15-16, and will be parked in front of the hotel on Lexington and E. 48th St.

THOMAS PINK: Select VIP customers of British menswear retailer, Thomas Pink, will be awarded rides to their next Manhattan destination in an NBC Sports Premier League London taxi on August 15-16. Authentic London taxis will be parked in front of the storefront, offering local transportation to shoppers at the 6th Ave. and 44th St. location.
