Review Fix chats with False-Heads Frontman Luke Griffiths, who discusses the band’s new EP, “Tunnel Vision.” The UK grunge band sound will remind may of early ’90s treats the likes of Nirvana, with tinges of classic punk and alternative.

Review Fix: How was the band formed?
Luke Griffiths: We met at uni, had a jam and thought we it would be good to make a band. Sort of a boring story, sorry.
Review Fix: What are your influences?
Griffiths: Quite a wide range of influences- we share some common influences. Jack is into funk, jazz and blues and Mop is into some hardcore and stuff (which I can’t stand) but I suppose the main influences in terms of song writing are Pixies, Radiohead, Nirvana, Elliott Smith, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Clash and Sex Pistols probably.
Review Fix: What’s your favorite song on the EP?
Griffiths: Mine is “Fall Around,” it’s got quite a heavy sound if you listen to it, but it’s also got some nice melodies and I just think it combines quite a few of our influences.
Review Fix: What separates you guys from other bands?
Griffiths: I don’t know really. We just sort of make the music we like and don’t try to follow what’s big at the minute or make music we think we will be successful.
Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?
Griffiths: I’d like it to just make people want to make their own music and pick up a guitar or something, that would be nice.
Review Fix: What are the band’s long-term goals?
Griffiths: We want to release an album with songs we think are very strong. We want to go on tour and we want to do this for a long time ultimately. We will just work at it and see what happens.
Review Fix: How do you want this EP to be remembered a few years from now?
Griffiths: I’m really not sure. Obviously it isn’t exposed to as many people as I’d like it to be so I’m not sure. I think there are songs on this EP that would definitely make the album when we come round to do it, so I’d guess I’d like it to be remembered as the EP that sort of gave people an idea of what was to come.
