Triple Helix Expands John Byrne’s Universe

John Byrne continues to break new ground with all-new series in 2013 by revealing the shocking secrets of Triple Helix! As the newest original team from Byrne is formed, what surprises will he have in store?

After the game-changing conclusion to Trio, questions remain and mysteries loom. Featuring a brand-new team of heroes, Triple Helix will explore the greater universe that Byrne is building by introducing another super-team, who pick up the action where it left off, in the form of the invading Next Men villain Golgotha! Debuting this October, expect to see some familiar faces from Byrne’s creator-owned works in this 4-issue limited series! As an added bonus, the covers for all four issues combine to form a giant image of the team. Byrne is also providing variant character covers for each issue as well.

“As John Byrne has shown over the years with us and especially this year in his other new series, he certainly knows how to tell captivating stories in many genres beyond just superhero books,” said Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief. “But it’s a particular thrill to see him revisit the super-crowd now and again, especially as he expands the universe he’s been creating with us, albeit one with a darker side—on the surface, Triple Helix might look vaguely familiar to longtime Byrne fans, but as everyone will see in October, the truth is very different than what it seems.”

John Byrne has been a popular figure in comics since his definitive run on X-Men with Chris Claremont. His progressive style defined an era and helped inspire many modern artists. Since his departure from traditional superheroes, Byrne has successfully championed creator-owned work with his books Next Men, Danger Unlimited and most recently Trio, The High Ways and Doomsday.1 at IDW, just to name a few.

Between Byrne’s creator-owned projects, and the recent release of the jaw-dropping John Byrne’s Fantastic Four: Artist’s Edition alongside his new The High Ways and Doomsday.1 show, it’s clear there is no stopping IDW and John Byrne!
