Creator of First ‘Grand Theft Auto’ is Remaking Original Liberty City, in 3D

Michael Dailly, the original creator of “Grand Theft Auto,” is recreating the series’ first version of the now infamous Liberty City using “GameMaker: Studio,” video game website Kotaku reported today.

Dailly, who also created the hit “Lemmings,” is now the Head of Development at YoYo Games, working on various mobile, console and web games, as well as showcasing the power of the “GameMaker: Studio” software. Although the landscape won’t be playable, Dailly said he would be able to provide a virtual tour of the scenery once it’s completed.
