Impact Wrestling Coverage: Enter Dixieland

This week on Impact definitely spiced things up a bit, but it remains to be seen how much these storyline changes can keep things interesting in the long run.

While the Sting/Ethan Carter III feud has potential and Madison Rayne’s return finally gives Gail Kim some adequate competition and the announcement of the Dixieland match at Final Resolution, with no real World Champion and three other titles rarely defended, TNA’s problems cannot be solved with two engaging mid-card feuds.

TNA cannot be helped either when Rockstar Spud gets more camera time than AJ Styles, Magnus, Jeff Hardy, Chris Sabin, or Samoa Joe.

Matches:

Frank Kazarian and Christopher Daniels vs. Joseph Park and Eric Young: Park is Abyss? Duh. It took 18 months for TNA to come to the conclusion fans did upon his first appearance. What a waste. Park got beat down a ton in the match and was slapped in the face and even spit on.Young was tough on him as well, demanding that the big man step up and be the monster everyone knows he can be. Young even split the big man open and unleashed him on Kaz and Daniels. Within seconds, Park destroyed Kaz with a Chokeslam, Daniels with the Rack Buster and finally finished off Kaz with the Blackhole Slam.

X-Division Champion Chris Sabin w/Velvet Sky vs. Austin Aries: A solid X-Division match that saw Sabin use Sky and a series of sneaky heel counters to keep the advantage. However, after Sky couldn’t help Sabin, Aries finished off Sabin with the Brainbuster to capture the X-Division Championship.

Feast or Fired Match: Ethan Carter III vs. Austin Aries vs. Chris Sabin vs. Norv Fernum vs. Dewey Barnes vs. Zema Ion vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Hernandez vs. James Storm vs. Gunner vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Curry Man vs. Samoa Joe: Curry Man walked out on the match as soon as the bell rang and within seconds, the high-flying craziness began. While Joe had some nice spots, Aries truly shined with a 450 and slew of strikes. Gunner also made a heel turn during the match to claim the last briefcase. Carter III got the first case, Zema Ion got the second case and Chavo Guerrero got the third.
