CO-HEADLINE TOUR WITH MOON TAXI THIS APRIL, FESTIVAL DATES ANNOUNCED

NEW YORK, NY (January 29, 2014) – Wind-up Records and New Orleans’ own The Revivalists will re-release their City of Sound album on Fat Tuesday, March 4, 2014. The two-disc set will include eight live bonus tracks (track listing below) from various sold out shows from the Fall of 2013. The album was produced by Ben Ellman (Galactic, Trombone Shorty) and recorded under the guidance of Grammy Award-winning engineer/producer Chris Finney (Dr. John, R.E.M.). “We as a band are really proud of City of Sound, and it has helped us go a long way. We are psyched to be able to present to you this album, along with this second disc of over an hour of incredibly well recorded and mixed live material,” said the band. “We spent a lot of time sifting through our recorded shows and selecting our favorite performances, and we could not be prouder of the result.” Pre-orders are available for purchase now along with exclusive merch bundles (including band signed posters, special t-shirts and more) through the band’s online store HERE.

Also today, fans can exclusively hear one of the live tracks “Concrete (Fish Out Of Water)” (Live At Harvest The Music) on Relix Magazine’s website HERE. The Revivalists performed this song when they were featured in the fourth and final season of HBO’s acclaimed drama series “Treme” in an episode called “Sunset on Louisianne” which aired December 22nd. The performance took place at the Always Lounge in NOLA where Davis McAlary (played by Steve Zahn), a part-time DJ, aspiring songwriter and music scenester goes to see them perform.

The Revivalists head back out on the road this Friday, January 31st at The Parish in Austin, TX and new shows have just been announced in Chicago (IL) and Madison (WI). They also will be heading out on the road with Moon Taxi to co-headline eight shows beginning April 3, 2014 in Auburn, AL. That tour will hit Baton Rouge (LA), Oxford (MS), Charlottesville (VA), Philadelphia (PA) and will include two Brooklyn (NY) shows before wrapping in Washington (DC) on April 19, 2014. They also will return to The Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans on May 3rd, and will continue to be a must see band on the festival circuit throughout this summer and fall after performing last year in featured slots at Bonnaroo, Jazz Fest, Voodoo Festival, Governors Ball, The Hangout Festival, Mountain Jam and many more.

The Revivalists have been playing nonstop since 2007, crafting a genre-hopping sound that rounds out traditional rock instrumentation with horns and pedal steel guitar and mixes the divergent backgrounds of its individual members with the humid, funky undercurrents of the band’s New Orleans home. The result is like English spoken with an exotic accent: familiar, yet difficult to pin down. Religion aside, a revival is all about the tangible electricity that can only be created when enough like minds are crammed under a single roof for a singular purpose. It’s a spiritual spectacle, a carnival of the divine, a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

The Revivalists are David Shaw (Vocals), Ed Williams (Pedal Steel Guitar), Zack Feinberg (Guitar), Rob Ingraham (Saxophone), George Gekas (Bass), Andrew Campanelli (Drums) and Michael Girardot (Keys/Trumpet).
