NXT Coverage: Bo Wants His Belt Back

In a rather tame episode of NXT this week, Bo Dallas made it crystal clear that he wants the NXT Title reign of Adrian Neville to be a short one. In a cool promo, Dallas got under Neville’s skin and set the scene for their rematch in two weeks. If it’s anything like their ladder match at Arrival, it’ll be a treat.

Away from that, Paige, too, will have a match for her title soon against Charlotte Flair. Like the Dallas/Neville encounter, there’s no love loss there either.

Regardless of the limited storyline development, this week’s NXT had five decent matches and a few surprises in the form of Mason Ryan and Alexander Rusev’s domination of Xavier Woods.

Matches:

NXT Women’s Champion Paige vs. Sasha Banks w/Charlotte Flair: Paige worked over Banks with a slew of kicks and some hair beals. Banks fought back with some slaps, stomps and a hair beal of her own, but she wasn’t in complete control until she hit a Clothesline. She kept Paige down longer than expected with more submission work, until Paige fought back with few Clotheslines, a Dropkick and some elbows in the corner. Soon enough, Paige locked in the Scorpion Crosslock for the submission victory. After the match, Charlotte attacked Paige until Natalya Neidhart made the save.

The Ascension, Colin and Viktor vs. Travis Tyler and Cal Bishop: Colin used Shoulder Blocks and Viktor laid massive chops on the poor Tyler. Viktor kept the onslaught on with European Uppercuts on Bishop and hit a nasty Knee From the top rope on Tyler before the duo nailed him with their Fall of Man, Low Sweep/Spinning Elbow combination for the win.

Mason Ryan vs. Lesley Blake: If you thought Ryan was built like a truck before, he looks even better now. Much leaner, but more defined than in his WWE days, Ryan absolutely destroyed Blake, who, to his credit, sold well for the big man. Ryan, after some pandering and strikes, hit the Running Powerslam, but lost control after he ran into the turnbuckle. This allowed Blake to work on his shoulder for a bit. The advantage didn’t last long. After a Snake Eyes/Big Boot combination, Ryan followed it up with a Cobra Clutch Slam for the win.

Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev w/Lana: Before the match, Tyler Breeze attacked Woods, allowing Rusev to pose before he nailed Woods with knees an kicks. After a short Woods comeback, Rusev nailed him with a modified Samoan Drop, followed by a swinging Urinage Suplex and finally the Camel Clutch for the submission win.

Bo Dallas vs. Colin Cassady: The nearly seven-foot Cassady was all over Dallas for most of the match. After grabbing Cassady’s hair, Dallas was able to get in a kick to the head and quickly followed it up with the Double-Arm DDT for the win.
