Hell’s Kitchen Coverage: Anton’s Ego

IIt’s gastropub time in a new episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.” Just beware of flying fish and pay no attention to the loud arguing in that kitchen. It’s infected with overinflated ego.

The episode begins where the last one left off with Ramsay eliminating Jessica. Jessica did something no other chef has done: beg to be brought back after being eliminated. She really looked and sounded desperate. Whether this was a smart move by Ramsay or not will never be known. This had to have been the most emotional elimination on this show.

After that emotional rollercoaster, the chefs got some sleep. That is, except Ralph. Gabriel’s loud snoring kept him up all night. “He’s cutting so much wood at night. I mean acres and acres of wood.” Ralph said. He’s right: that was some really loud snoring.

Once morning came the chefs were told that they were going somewhere. They were taken to Ramsay’s Los Angeles gastropub. Here, they were told that that night “Hell’s Kitchen” will have a gastropub menu.

Gabriel had the line of the episode when he looked at the gastropub’s menu: “Skinny burgers. I’m allergic to that.”

At prep, Ralph’s lack of sleep took a toll on him. He said he was “seeing triple.” After a visit with the medic and some rest he was back in the kitchen ready for the night’s service.

On the Blue team, the biggest problem was Anton going at his own pace and bossing people around. Because of this Ralph brought out soggy fries and undercooked fried fish. Twice. Not to mention Scott put up a salad that had a ton of liquid in it. It had enough liquid to fill the bottom of a big bowl. Anton even forgot to put in three NY strips because he didn’t hear Ramsay. A communication breakdown due to Anton’s arrogance caused the entire Blue Kitchen to start arguing loudly. That caused food to not be brought out at all. One table even walked out because they waited for an hour and had places to go.

The Red team’s problem was just beginning with Kashia. She started with putting up cold garnish and then putting up the wrong greens. She was also eating everything in sight and calling it “tasting.” After that near perfect service Ramsay once again told them to help out the Blue. These episodes are starting to feel like anyone can write them. The cherry on top was the Blue brought up another terrible fried fish and were thrown out.

The argument pored over into the dorms. Anton’s ego has finally reared its ugly face and it’s not pretty. Of course, they had to choose two people for elimination. In the dorm the Blue said they’d put up Gabriel and Scott. When Ramsay asked Gabriel who they voted for he said Scott and Ralph. Ramsay called all three up and eliminated Ralph.

At first, Anton looked like a shoe in for winning this year. Now he’s the most annoying and hated chef on the show. At this point, he just wants to order people around and be swallowed up by his ego. The Blue Team is now going to team to get Anton out of there at all costs. Him being eliminated will now bring jubilance instead of sadness.
