NXT Coverage: Three’s a Crowd

So many new and fun faces. With four matches and a Battle Royal in an hour, NXT continues to entertain. Add in some drama in the NXT Title Battle Royal and next week will be a cool who as well.

With Sami Zayn, Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze all looking for a title shot, anything can happen. The same thing can be said for the NXT Women’s Title tournament, which has both Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks left, as well as Natalya Neidhart and newbie Alexa Bliss.

Add in the continued drama between Adam Rose and Camacho, as well as the lingering feud between Zayn and Corey Graves and it’s fair to say that NXT may be written just as well as TNA’s Impact. A scary, but true thought.

Matches:

NXT Womens Title Tournament: Emma vs. Charlotte Flair w/Sasha Banks: Emma was in control, but got distorted when she went for the Cobra. Although she hit the move, she nailed Banks on the Ring Apron, which allowed Flair to rollup Emma in the Charlotte’s Web for the win.

The Legionaries, Marcus Louis and Silvester LaFort vs. El Local and Kalisto: A good battle of ground vs. flying. Louis and LaFort worked well, mixing in submissions and quick tags, but the fun was with Local and Kalisto counters and Lucha maneuvers. Kalisto nearly won with Ultimo Dragon’s old jumping over the top reverse DDT, but later won with the backflip into the ropes/Spinning Wheel Kick variation.

Camacho vs. Captain Comic: This was “game over” quickly as Camacho destroyed Comic with a Belly-to-Back Suplex and his signature Leg Drop. After toying with him for a few more minutes, Camacho hit a Samoan Drop variation and won with the Running Powerslam. After the match, Adam Rose ran into the ring to make the save for his friend.

NXT Womens Title Tournament: Alexa Bliss vs. Alicia Foxx: The pint-sized Bliss has plenty of spunk and athletic ability. Although Foxx beat on Bliss with strikes and a nifty Titl-a-Whirl Backbreaker, Foxx went to the move again and Bliss rolled her up for the win.

Battle Royal for #1 Contender’s Spot for NXT Title: Poor Bo Dallas. The former NXT Champion was on fire in the Battle Royal, but ended up getting eliminated by Tyson Kidd. After a flurry of eliminations sent Mason Ryan and Dallas out, Tyler Breeze, Kidd and Zayn were left in the match, but in another crazy move all three went over the top, forcing Triple H to announce a three-way match for the number one contender’s spot next week.
