NXT Coverage: Time to Takeover

With Takeover just a week away, NXT needed a solid go-home show to sent up the landmark night.

That’s exactly what they got.

Behind just enough promo and storyline development, five fun matches and the end of Bo Dallas’ NXT career, as well as the last match before the finals of the NXT Women’s Title tournament and there was plenty to talk about this week.

Matches:

Bo Dallas vs. Big E. Langston: Dallas hit both the Implant DDT and the Double Arm DDt on Langston, but he couldn’t put him away. With the refs back turned, Dallas removed the turnbuckle but ended up getting nailed with the Big Ending to conclude his NXT career.

Divas Champion Paige vs. Tamina Snuka: Although Paige landed some of her signature maneuvers including her Elbow Bash in the corner, Snuka was in control throughout, hitting strikes and even putting Paige in a modified Torture Rack. However, in spite of all of the offense from Snuka, Paige won with a Rollup.

Adam Rose vs. Camacho: Rose got beat on with a variety of Suplexes and strikes until Rose “hulked up” and hit the Spinebuster and his Choo Choo strike in the corner. Just when Rose appeared ready to finish the match with the Party Foul, Camacho fled the ring and got himself counted out.

NXT Women’s Title Tournament: Natalya Neidhart vs. Sasha Banks w/Charlotte Flair: Banks showed a ton of moxie here, holding her own against agreeably the best worker in the Divas Division. Vicious at times, Banks countered Neidhart’s technical skill with good groundwork and plenty of strikes. However, after Banks was thrown out of the ring, Flair threw her back in, allowing Neidhart to quickly apply the Sharpshooter for the win.

NXT Champion Adrian Neville vs. Curt Hawkins: Neville went through all of signature offense in the tune-up match for Takeover, but Hawkins sold well and more than held his own before Neville won with The Red Arrow. Armed with his Mike Piazza-themed trunks and cool shades, Hawkins still has potential to crack the WWE roster.
