WWE Legends House Coverage: Wax On, Wax Off

It’s a tired gag, but seeing the WWE Legends get spray tans and waxes was an effective dose of reality TV.

For guys that have wrestled all over the world, they were pretty wimpy when it came to getting “manscaped.”

Regardless, seeing Roddy Piper scream and curse through the entire process was worth it. The team’s Chippendale performance later in the show wasn’t the most visually inspiring endeavor on the TV screen, but it did emit chuckle after chuckle. Every solid reality show has that “comfy” feel, one that comes from feeling as if you know the characters personally.

Through this wacky episode, “Legends House” got extremely close to finding that place. A lot of that has to do with the continued drama between Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Tony Atlas. With just a bump, the heat started between these two again this week and not even kind words from Piper could calm them down. Both large men, a bout between Atlas and Duggan would be great TV, but would not be positive for the emotional health of the house.

At the same time, without the Atlus/Duggan squabble, “Legends House” would be a bunch of old men doing ridiculous challenges. That little bit of “Jersey Shore” goes a long way here. Well, that and the continued “quirky” remarks of Mean Gene Okerlund. After hitting on Ashley the first few weeks, Okerlund said he wanted to “sand his balls” before the Chippendales challenges. If hearing something like that from a man over 70 doesn’t get a snicker out of you, you’re probably dead.

With this wild yet balanced dose of old-school wrestling heat, wackiness and reality show goodness, “Legends House” continues to work its way up the card.
