This episode should be nominated for an Emmy.
In terms of reality show quality, you know, that train wreck, but you can’t stop watching feeling, this episode had it in droves.
Tony Atlas and rubber duckies= gold.
Still the loner of the group, Atlas’ sensitivity continues to cause issues in Legends house. Regardless, for the third week, Atlas managed to end up a winner. Playing an integral part in the success of his group, or the synergy of the house, he’s ironically a key member of the show, like it or not.
But that doesn’t mean the other personalities aren’t important either. For the first time in the series, every personality had a moment to shine, whether it was the crazy antics of Roddy Piper, the foul, but endearing mouth of Gene Okerlund or the agreeable, but warm ways of Howard Finkel.
A lot of that had to do with the way the show is set up. The errands they ran and obstacles in their way the first two episodes were fun, but bowling with old ladies and creating their own commercial this week were so different. It forced every member of the house to come out of their shell and as a result, there’s more friction and fun than ever.
With the divide between Atlas and the rest of the group growing every week and the bonds between Okerlund and Pat Patterson, as well as Piper and Hacksaw Jim Duggan, there’s a definite recipe cooking for a beautiful reality TV disaster.
Simply put, if you grew up with action figures of any of these guys, you owe it to yourself to see what they are up to now. Just like Piper said in the ’80s, just when you think you’ve got this show figured out and it’s got all your questions answered, it goes and changes them on ya. The result, for now, is an engaging, but whimsical look into the minds of some of wrestlings most iconic personalities.
