There wasn’t very much wrestling this week on Impact, but the storyline developments were crucial ones.
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who’s now in charge of TNA Impact and who got something done in the ring.
Honorable Mention: Robert Roode: Quickly getting in the middle of Eric Young’s feud with MVP, Roode quickly made an Impact last week and got in even deeper this week. Once MVP’s knee is completely healed, expect big things from Roode in what will be a killer in-ring angle between two of TNA’s top workers.
5: Gail Kim: Earning a pin-fall victory over Knockouts Champion Angelina Love this week in a Tag match with Taryn Terrell, Kim has certainly positioned herself to get a much deserved title shot. Easily the best female worker in the business today, Kim’s developing angle with Love is one of the most logically booked and enjoyable to watch in TNA today.
4: Sanada: His English is awful, but the kid can go. If TNA can try and find a way to get him in the ring more and get him a legit mouthpiece, Sanada could get over. But his current, “happy to be in America wrestling†gimmick just doesn’t cut it. Perhaps a feud with James Storm could change that.
3: Willow and Abyss: Two former TNA Champions form a pretty damn good hardcore tag team. With established resumes and the fan’s support, these two can have some serious fun in a mid-card tag role. While it’s not exactly where they want to be or where they should be, it’s a role in the company that needs to be filled.
2: Ethan Carter III: Although he hasn’t had much luck with Bully Ray, ECIII looks to make a name for himself by feuding with another hardcore legend in Tommy Dreamer. Although it may be hard to see now, but ECIII is a future TNA World Heavyweight in the waiting.
1: Kurt Angle: The new Executive Director of Wrestling Operations of TNA, it’s obvious now that his wrestling career is over, but he’ll be more than useful here.
