Frankie Valli sang it best, “Oh what a night.â€
With every title on the line and less filler than ever, TNA brought it big time in one of the best episodes of Impact this year.
Check out this week’s Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who left the memorable night as the new X-Division Champion and who has a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight title.
Honorable Mention: Bobby Roode: Damn he’s pissed and he’s about to take out his frustration on MVP. Once the former WWE star is healed up from a nasty knee injury, expect Roode and MVP to have a series of solid matches. Although this would have been a great feud for a secondary title, it still works as an old-fashioned grudge match. For the time being however, Roode will have to deal with Kenny King.
5: Eric Young: Still a legitimate contender for the TNA World Heavyweight title, Young will continue to be pushed in decent upper card feuds- simply because fans love him and he can work. Proof of that was how well he did in the Battle Royal this past week on Impact. Don’t expect him to wear the belt again any time soon, but he will matter.
4: The Wolves: It looks like the Wolves have a dance partner they can work with in Bram and Magnus. Arguably the best tag team in professional wrestling today, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards continue to be featured regularly on the show, wrestling solid 10-15 minute matches. For any performer, especially young ones, you can’t ask for much more than that.
3: Austin Aries: The new TNA X-Division Champion, Aries finally has the belt back after Senada’s mediocre run. Can Aries bring back some prestige to the strap and even trade it in again for a chance at the TNA World Heavyweight title? That would be cool.
2: Bobby Lashley: Virtually indestructible, Lashley has been on a massive role since he defeated Eric Young for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. All he needs is some more mic time and maybe, just maybe, TNA could make this run somewhat memorable.
1: Jeff Hardy: The new #1 contender for the TNA World Heavyweight title, Hardy has ditched the Willow persona and is ready to reclaim the belt.
