A new Knockouts Champion and the surprising return of a former ECW World Heavyweight Champion made sure that Impact Wrestling doesn’t lose viewers to NXT.
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see what else happened on a crazy episode of Impact.
Honorable Mention: Rhino: His return was a shocker and his new alliance is an intriguing one, but not as cool as what the future could hold for him moving forward. Always underrated, Rhino still has the potential to entertain, he just needs a shot.
5: Eric Young: Another clean loss at the hands of Bobby Lashley puts him on the outside looking in at the TNA World Heavyweight title. He’s still over with the fans, but he needs to find a way to keep himself relevant. Otherwise, he’ll be like countless other guys that wore the belt and went on to obscurity.
4: Ethan Carter III: His new alliance with the returning Rhino can only keep him safe and improve his chances at moving up the TNA ladder. But make no mistake, his feud with Bully Ray is far from over.
3: Samoa Joe: He wants the world title, but he’s going to piss off Kurt Angle first. This will be interesting to watch as it develops, but in order to really make it work, Joe needs to get back in the ring. Perhaps winning the X-Division title from the uncharismatic Senada and cashing it in would be a good start.
2: Gail Kim: The best female performer in wrestling today once again has the Knockouts title around her waist. Angelina Love made her work for it for a few months, but now that Kim, is champion again, who stands in her way? Like her last title run, Kim is in a league of her own. Depending on how she’s booked, it can go either way.
1: Bobby Lashley: He’s beaten everyone in his way, he just needs some legitimate heat and more time in the ring. With Eric Young out of the way, that’s exactly what he’s going to get.
