‘Attack the Block’ Director Joe Cornish Eyed for ‘Skull Island’

One of the most surprising news coming out of San Diego Comic-Con was Legendary is developing a ‘Skull Island’ feature—now comes news of who they have in mind to direct the film.

Deadline reports that Legendary has targeted “Attack the Block” helmer Joe Cornish.

The announcement of a “Skull Island” film prompted a huge response from the Hall-H crowd—Skull Island is the home one of the most iconic movie monsters in history, King Kong. The Island also houses other gigantic creatures.

In a statement, Legendary said, “Previous works have touched on the island, but staying and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions.”
