NXT Coverage: Lucha! Lucha!

A packed card and some set up for next week proved to be a solid combination as this week’s NXT had a nice balance of drama and in-ring action.

Away from the continued hilariousness of Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore and the decision to grant Tyson Kidd yet another shot at Adrian Neville’s NXT title, the tag team rematch between the Lucha Dragons and The Ascension, as well as the budding rivalry between NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Bayley satisfied. While the payoff isn’t quite there yet, Amore and Cassady are future NXT and WWE Tag Team Champions, while Flair and Bayley have bright futures as well.

NXT is supposed to be where the stars of tomorrow are born and even though it was far from what was featured on Takeover, this week’s NXT got the job done.

Mojo Rawley vs. Bull Dempsey: Rawley’s career is over. Dempsey quickly won with the top rope Headbutt.

Tyler Breeze vs. Justin Gabriel: Although Gabriel was in control, Breeze was resilient and hit the Beauty Shot out of nowhere for the win.

Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss: Bayley got the win with her Belly-to-Bayley Suplex and Bliss missed the Standing Moonsault.

Enzo Amore w/Colin Cassady vs. Marcus Louis w/ Sylvester LeFort: After Amore removed the Biddy Roberts-esque head gear, Amore got the win with the School Boy.

Viktor and Konnor vs. NXT Tag Team Champions Sin Cara and El Calisto: The Ascension dominated until Hideo Itami caused the distraction, allowing Calisto to hit the SDS for the win.
