With a sound that combines elements of The Gin Blossoms, The Dropkick Murphy’s and The Decemberists, EdTang and The Chops’ “When Death Should Find Us,” off their newest self-titled EP, has a definite place on your iPhone or preferred listening device.
The beginning of the track will remind older ears of The Gin Blossoms’ “Follow You Down,” while the gruffer, but charismatic hook definitely has a “Down By the Water,” and DKM feel. The mesh of sound is a pleasure. Known for his ability as a vocalist and writer, Tang’s prowess, combined with solid guitar licks and drum work make for a full sound that is absolutely radio worthy.
Simply put, Tang’s voice and lyrical ability is like Jim Croce with a sore throat. A tough guy anthem, the song instantly connects with a blue collar crowd thanks to lyrics the likes of “A good stiff drink before I’ll feel alright,” and “You buy new things that already look used.” Roughneck poetry with an abundance of heart and soul, this track continues to personify the band’s budding legacy for worthwhile tunes with plenty of meaning and a clear depth of sound.

Hickey Jr. is also a voice actor, having starred in the 2018 indie hit and 2019 Switch, PS4 and Xbox One release, The Padre (also serving as English language Story Editor), from Shotgun With Glitters. The sequel, The Padre: One Shell Straight to Hell was released in February 2021- Hickey also served as a Story Editor and Lead Voiceover performer. He has also done narration and trailers for several other titles including The Kaiju Offensive, Relentless Rex and Roniu’s Tale.
Hickey is also the lead voiceover performer on Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming title WrestleQuest, responsible for nearly 90 characters in the game, as well as Skybound's Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood, where he voices both Dracula and Renfield, as well as several other characters. He also stars in Ziggurat Interactive’s World Championship Boxing Manager 2, where he performs the VO of nearly every male character in the game. He also worked on the Atari VCS’s BPM Boy.
