This was the type of episode of NXT a wrestling fan can get used to. Four good matches, zero filler.
Check out this week’s NXT Power Rankings to see what young stars made the biggest impact on a filler-free episode of NXT.
Honorable Mention: Sasha Banks: Her win over Alexa Bliss and promo continue to cast her as one of the most dominant Divas in NXT. Does she have what it takes to beat Charlotte Flair?
5: Simon Gotch and Aiden English: The number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team titles, the Vaudevillians have done everything right, but win the straps. Over with the fans and easily the most polished team, their battle with the Lucha Dragons will be an engaging one.
4: Calisto and Sin Cara: The reigning NXT Tag Team Champions beat Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy with an awesome combination of power and speed and look primed to defend against English and Gotch. Although the smaller team, they’ve gotten by most opponents with an abundance of heart- and unpredictability.
3: Hideo Itami and Finn Balor: It’s rare that you have two guys that are amazing singles stars as teammates, but for the time being, that’s what Balor and Itami are. Stiff, in great shaw and in the case of Balor, uber charismatic, they have limitless potential by themselves and as a team.
2: Sami Zayn: Nice guys finish last and Zayn continues to be one. Until he gets that killer instinct all champions have, he’ll continue to be a fan favorite, but one who doesn’t have a strap around his waist.
1: Adrian Neville: The NXT Champion continues to find ways to win and that’s what all long-term champions do.
