WWE Super Smackdown Live Coverage: Ziggler Zigs and Zags Over Rollins

Smackdown has been a show watched only by hardcore fans for years now, but slowly but surely, it’s become a show where the mid-card gets developed. With the feuds of Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose, as well as Ryback and Rusev being developed and furthered there, the show is far from a joke.

With a nifty main event of Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler as well, it did a decent enough job of maintaining some pertinence.

Matches:

Roman Reigns vs. Fandango w/Rosa Mendez: Although Fandango tries to slow things down with strikes and submissions, Reigns won handily with the Superman Punch and Spear.

Jimmy and Jey Uso and Erik Rowan vs. WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz and Damien Sandow and Luke Harper: A good back and forth with plenty of offense. Rowan got the win with the Top Rope Splash after the Usos took out Miz with a Double Super Kick and Harper with a Double Suicide Dive.

Ryback vs. Seth Rollins w/Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury: A no-contest as before the match even started, Rusev ambushed Ryback on the ramp and nailed him with two Super Kicks.

Naomi vs. Divas Champion Nikki Bella w/Brie Bella: A good back and forth until Jimmy Uso took The Miz, who was watching ringside, backstage, by the head. With her attention on her husband, Nikki was able to use the Rollup to secure the win.

Adam Rose w/Bunny vs. Kane: Rose hit a bit more offense than last time, but Kane still destroyed Rose with the Chokeslam for the win. After the match, Kane hit the Tombstone on Bunny, again.

Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. Seth Rollins w/Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury: A good wrestling match until Mercury and Noble took out Ziggler on the outside and gave Rollins to opportunity to mount a serious offensive. Ziggler eventually fought back and nearly won with his signature DDT, but that essentially just evened things out. Rollins then scored a near fall with an Enzigieri, but Ziggler hit the X-Factor from the top rope to keep it anyone’s match. Ziggler then scored another near fall with the Fameasser, but when he went for the Zig-Zag, Noble punched him in the face. Only this time, the referee saw it and threw them out of the match. With Rollins attention diverted, Ziggler hit the Zig-Zag for the win.
