If the end of this week’s show is any indication, it’s coming and soon.
One of the best episodes in NXT history just for the sake of its Ring of Honor- all wrestling, no frills approach, this week’s show set up several key angles that will definitely play a key role in the company’s next two-hour event.
Tyson Kidd vs. Finn Balor: You don’t get to often see 15-minute matches like this anywhere on WWE programming. This was a damn good match. It’s just sad it didn’t mean more. If it were for a title or there was more heat between these two, it would have been even cooler. Regardless, it’s a match that will definitely get Balor more attention. After he escaped the Hart Family Sharpshooter, Balor hit the Reverse Brainbuster and then finished off Kidd with the Diving Double Stomp from the Top Rope.
Bull Dempsey vs. Baron Corbin: Dempsey was in control on the outside, but after he missed the top rope Headbutt, Corbin hit the End of Days for the win.
NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Natalya Neidhart vs. Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks: After some initial back and forth, Banks got the win with an awesome Double-Arm Regal Cutter-esque manuever- and a handful of tights.
NXT Champion: Sami Zayn vs. Adrian Neville: A great match full of counters and offense, although Zayn ultimately got the win with the Exploder Suplex and Helluva Kick, an appearance by Kevin Owens, who beat on the already exhausted Zayn, soured the night for the champion.
