NXT Power Rankings: Building Towards the Future

Without several of their top stars, NXT still put on a solid show, thanks to more drama between Bull Dempsey and Baron Corbin, as well as Sasha Banks and NXT Womens Champion Charlotte Flair.

Check out this week’s NXT Power Rankings to see who rang in the new year in grand fashion.

Honorable Mention: Blue Pants: Who knows what the WWE is going to do with her, but it’s obvious the NXT Universe loves her. Could they actually have her join the roster and give her a real name?

5: Kalisto and Sin Cara: Much like The Usos, Kalisto and Cara are not the most charismatic tag team in NXT, but they get it done in the ring/ From making their opponents look good, to finishing matches with a big bang, the Lucha Dragons are a formidable duo.

4: Simon Gotch and Aiden English: These guys are hungry and want a rematch with the Lucha Dragons. Arguably the best in-ring tag team in NXT, they certainly deserve one.

3: Baron Corbin: Still the hottest performer in NXT, Corbin continues to dominate every competitor in his path. Showing off a few moves than usual this week as well, who knows, maybe he’s more than a one-move marvel.

2: Hideo Itami and Finn Balor: The crowd loves them both and the Japanese strong style suits NXT beautifully. Although they’ve been pidgeon-holed in the tag team division, expect them to grow into wonderful singles performers.

1: Sami Zayn: A heartfelt promo on a cell phone sets the scene for what appears to be a killer feud between him and Kevin Owens. Fans of the indie scene have seen this before, but never on a stage like this. Make no mistake, this series of matches will be better than most of the action you’ll see on WWE programming this year.
