Serious Parody’s “5 Star Wrestling†is set for a March 17 release date on the PlayStation 3 and will retail for $24.99/€24.99, the publisher confirmed today.
Despite having only eight playable characters, “5 Star Wrestling†will possess some of the most innovative gameplay mechanics in a wrestling game. According to Serious Parody, every competitor will have a different play style and moveset, comprised of anywhere from 170-180 moves, making every matchup feel different. Add in a literally knee-buckling limb damage system that prevents your opponents from pulling off moves with affected body parts and “5 Star Wrestling” possesses a plethora of strategy.
“This was one of the things we stressed when we first announced the game, that every character has to have very unique movesets†“5 Star Wrestling” creator Dan Hinkles told Examiner in an exclusive interview, adding that each performer’s movesets will be 85 percent their own only. “Sure you’ll have the same apron punch, put the similarities will be very few and far between.â€

Hickey is also the lead voiceover performer on Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming title WrestleQuest, responsible for nearly 90 characters in the game, as well as Skybound's Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood, where he voices both Dracula and Renfield, as well as several other characters. He also stars in Ziggurat Interactive’s World Championship Boxing Manager 2, where he performs the VO of nearly every male character in the game. He also worked on the Atari VCS’s BPM Boy.
