KING HITTER TO RELEASE DEBUT EP MARCH 24

North Carolina’s KING HITTER will release their self-titled debut ep via Restricted Release/Plastic Head Music onMarch 24.  Featuring vocalist Karl Agell (ex-Corrosion Of Conformity) and his Leadfoot band mate, guitarist Scott Little, the ep will be available for preorders via ITunes, Amazon, and other music outlets in North America beginning February 10.  The label has started early cd preorders HERE and digital preorders HERE.  The album will also be available on limited-edition 10 inch vinyl; order details to be announced shortly.

Taking their name from the 1975 song “Black-Eyed Bruiser” by Australian pop icon Stevie Wright, King Hitter properly introduces the Raleigh-based five-piece to the world.  Under the guidance of producer James Lugo (Fuel/Matt Sorrum/311), King Hitter was recorded during the mid months of 2014 at Hemispheres Recording.  Featuring five herculean songs that are comfortably familiar yet fresh and new, it showcases the band’s tempered chops.  In a recent interview Agell shared, “I remain proud of the work I did with Corrosion of Conformity and Leadfoot.  That satisfaction has always led me to wonder if I would ever feel the same achievement that I still have for the Blind album.  I finally have my answer to that; let me introduce you and the rest of the world to the real King Hitter.”

King Hitter made their live debut at The Pour House in Raleigh on June 13 and followed it up as a performer at NC MetalFest alongside 22 other bands a month later.  Event organizer Tony Leonard said, “King Hitter are classic 70’s hard rock/metal with a modern edge.  This is one of my favorite releases at the moment.  A totally awesome band.”

Agell sang on Corrosion of Conformity’s break out album, 1991’s Blind.  All Music Guide calls it, ”one of the most important heavy rock albums of the decade.”  The album was the 115th inductee into Decibel Magazine’s Hall of Fame.  Decibel editor Albert Mudrian notes, “you’d have to be deaf, not to mention Blind, not to recognize Karl Agell as one of the greatest metal vocalists of the past 25 years.”  Outside of King Hitter, Agell is involved with COC drummer Reed Mullin’s supergroup, Teenage Time Killers.  The album, as reported by Rolling Stone, will be released via Rise Records in 2015 and features a host of guests including Dave Grohl, Corey Taylor, Jello Biafra, and more.
