Warriors of Wrestling Mic On Coverage: No Limits

On Saturday March 7, Warriors of Wrestling hosted its encore presentation to their January show with “Mic On.” The event featured former World champion, ex-WWE star and current TNA star Mr. Anderson, who headlined as the main event. The show also featured Joey Ace defending his No Limits title and a return match between The Rican Hate Club and EYFBO who have a heated feud which appears to be growing by the minute.

Matches:

Style & Finesse vs. The Corino Brothers: The opening match of the event was an evenly contested back and forth match between the Corino Brothers and Style & Finesse. Style & Finesse came out hot and had the advantage early on. Midway through the match the Corino’s eventually got the upper hand. Down the stretch, Style & Finesse were able to get the win by using their signature tag team Powerbomb and running knee to the face.

Chris Payne vs. Marc Quen vs. Anthony Gangone vs. Mike Del vs. Smiley vs Michael Massacre as Chris Steeler: All participants in this match put in an even amount of offense. Payne rocked Quen with a Powerbomb moments after Quen countered Gangone’s backdrop into a reverse DDT. Massacre won via pinfall over Mike Del after nailing a variation of Chris Steeler’s finishing maneuver the Impaler.

J Jorge vs. Kyle the Beast: Kyle the Beast made his Warriors of Wrestling debut against J Jorge. The Beast garbed in ring attire similar to Taz early in his career in ECW using the Tazmaniac gimmick, was able to be victorious over J Jorge by hitting him with a jackhammer. Jorge showed off his technical ring skills in a good relatively evenly contested match. Jorge’s ring knowledge created moments where it looked as if he would take the victory, but The Beast just proved to be too strong and was able to overpower Jorge for the win.

After the match Dirtbag Dan and Scotty Priest came out and cut a pretty entertaining promo in Kyle The Beast ring gear, in hopes of recruiting him to be their new leader since John Cannon abandoned them after last event.

BA Kidd & Benjamin Quinn vs. Abdul Nasir & Darius Carter w/ Naphtali Rodriguez and Harley: The match began to take a turn when Rodriguez and Harley became a distraction for Kidd who tried to fend them both off on the outside. The final distraction allowed Carter to score the victory after a failed sunset flip attempt by Quinn. Carter was able to pin Quinn’s legs down after the attempt with extra leverage while Harley, Rodriguez, and Nasir kept Kidd from making a save from the outside.

Logan Black vs. Joey Ace: No Limits Title Match: Logan Black and Joey Ace worked a great match together, and Ace once again delivered a champions worthy performance. The match was similar to an AJ Styles and Samoa Joe TNA classic. Black took it to Ace with power and speed, but Ace’s athleticism and resilience kept Black from getting too much momentum. Black had a chance to win the title, but was distracted by Matt Macintosh who came over the loud speaker claiming that he would be the one to take the title from Ace and not Black. That distraction allowed Ace to take down Black with a clothesline, which he followed up with The Randy Savage Elbow drop.

Team Torment (Jason Cross & Jack Gallows) vs. Jasin Karloff: Team Torment and entourage included entered from the back door as usual, but were intercepted by Jasin Karloff and his path of rage. Karloff’s hatred for the champ looked even stronger as he came in looking for a street fight not wrestling match. Karloff brawls with every member of Team Torment into the crowd and around the venue until he gets back to the ring with Jack Gallows. Jason Cross is able to get back to the ring and stop Karloff’s onslaught on Gallows, but after a few tag team moves Karloff’s raw strength is enough to overpower them both. After a Spear from Karloff to Gallows, entourage member Juba tried to get involved but was hit with an Enzeguri by Karloff. Karloff then attempted to suplex Cross from the ring apron into the ring but was tripped up by Gallows who also pins his legs down allowing Cross to fall on top of Karloff and get the three count. Gallows quickly bailed with the retained title, but Karloff takes his anger of the lost out on Cross. Afterward Joey B came out and stated that on the April 11 show, Karloff will take on Team Torment in a steel cage.

The Rican Hate Club (Dan Maff & Havoc) vs. WOW Tag Team Champions EYFBO (Mike Draztic & Angel Ortiz): The feud and hatred between the teams are getting stronger and stronger, which was proven by the ambush attack on the entrance way by the Hate Club on EYFBO. The Hate Club just decimates the champs on the outside, but made a poor decision by tossing the champs into the ring giving them the higher ground. EYFBO used the higher ground to their advantage by executing a pair of outside dives. The two teams got back in the ring and continue to battle trading off offensive maneuvers with neither getting the upper hand. As the match goes on the tension continues to build to the point where the referee attempts to break up a hard-hitting exchange between Ortiz and Havoc but gets floored. The ref decided to throw the match out, but it didn’t stop all four participants to brawl until the entire locker room came out to break it up. The fight wasn’t officially over until Ortiz and Draztic nailed everyone on the outside with a pair of suicide dives.

John Cannon vs. TJ Marconi: A good back and forth match between Marconi and Cannon early on, but Marconi eventually got on a roll with a series of clotheslines and Dusty Rhodes type elbow strikes. Late in the match Naphtali Rodriguez, Abdul Nasir, Darius Carter and Harley come out and surround the ring. After a missed Big Boot attempt at the head of Nasir who was standing on the apron, all five men pounced on Marconi like a pack of wolves on prey. They beat on Marconi until he is incapacitated and unable to stand. They take cell phone selfies with Marconi’s motionless body and reveal themselves as Rodriguez newest stable.

Rude Boy Riley vs. Anderson 2/3 Falls: The main event featured Staten Island’s hometown kid Rude Boy Riley against current TNA superstar Mr.Anderson. Anderson came out and put on his usual charismatic and joking performance on the mic getting the crowd hot for and entertaining finale. After announcing his own name and billing, he hid in the ringside crowd waiting for Riley to enter. When Riley made his way to the front of the ring Anderson emerged from behind to take Riley out with a chair shot, leaving Riley unconscious and Anderson able to pick up the first fall by pin fall.

After short interval, Anderson went to cover Riley again, but Riley kicked out. After a short exchange, Riley was able to counter Anderson into a roll up pin to get his first fall. From here on out both competitors really duel it out. Anderson being the aggressor and Riley being the counter fighter. Whenever Riley begin to get on a role Anderson was able to slow him down with a hard strike. Anderson looked to put Riley away with the Mic Check after a Fireman’s carry roll through, but Riley powered out and hit Anderson with the Lights Out for the second and final pinfall.
