Thanks to a crappy crap and a waste of time segment with Wiz Khalifa, this week’s RAW was passable, at best. With less than three weeks before Wrestlemania, the company is running out of time to build up intrigue for their biggest show of the year.
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings who managed to shine in an otherwise weak episode of RAW.
Honorable Mention: Daniel Bryan: His win over Wade Barrett this week sets up Bryan as a participant in the upcoming Intercontinental Title ladder match at Wrestlemania. While there are plenty of better uses for Bryan at Wrestlemania, seeing him a match for the IC Title is better than not seeing him at all.
Tap All Night, Baby: John Cena’s escapades this week on RAW not only earned him a United States title rematch with Rusev at Wrestlemania, it got him one of his biggest pops in months. Angry and motivated, it should be interesting to see how Cena does in his next encounter with the Bulgarian Brute.
5: Bray Wyatt: His promos this week on RAW continue to build the drama for his encounter with The Undertaker. No one knows how the two will match up once they get in the ring, but with Wyatt on the mic playing games for the next couple of weeks, the feud has a lot more potential than you think.
4: Seth Rollins: The best heel the WWE has right now, it’s a shame Rollins isn’t in the main event of this year’s Wrestlemania. Regardless, he’ll find a way to get involved and keep things spicy.
3: Roman Reigns: His continued dominance in the ring is proof that the WWE will do almost anything to get him over before Wrestlemania. While he continues to add more moves to his arsenal and has shown more stamina, he hasn’t proven that he can sell enough to make Lesnar look dominant and have enough gas to mount a serious enough attack to take down the Beast.
2: Randy Orton: Although it’s taking entirely too long for the Viper to strike against the Authority, that has little to do with him and more to do with the horrid writing of his character. In awesome shape and obviously rejuvenated from his time off, Orton’s character is one that is beloved by the WWE Universe and one that will always be in a major storyline. Once Orton and Seth Rollins finally get in the ring, it’ll be special.
1: Brock Lesnar: Thanks once again to brilliant mic work from the one and only Paul Heyman, Lesnar’s never been this over as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. While no one knows if he’ll leave Wrestlemania with the title, there’s no shortage of intrigue surrounding the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
