The Tag Team Tournament and more drama in the Beat Down Clan and the future of the TNA World Heavyweight title and Knockouts Division made for some interesting TV this week on Impact.
Although no titles changed hands away from ’s win of the Tag Team straps, the drama, again, was of the building variety, setting up a solid Eric Young/Kurt Angle title match next week, as well as an Awesome Kong/Taryn Terrell Match for the Knockouts title.
Matches:
James Storm and Khoya vs. Matt and Jeff Hardy: The Hardy’s got the win after Storm accidentally hit Khoya with the Last Call, allowing Jeff to get the win with the Senton on the already weakened Khoya. Storm was unable to help the youngster, as Matt took him out with a Twist of Fate.
TNA X-Division Champion Rockstar Spud and Mr. Anderson vs. Low-Ki and Kenny King: Spud took a beating in this match as Anderson was forced to watch. While Spud and Anderson finally got control of the match after a Spud Underdog, Low-Ki hit the Warriors Way behind the referee’s back to give the BDC the win.
Jay Rios and Tigre Uno vs. Ethan Carter III and Bram w/Tyrus: Although Bram hit the Impaler DDT, EC III, in typical heel fashion, tagged himself in and got the win.
Robbie E. and Jessie Godderz vs. Bobby Roode and Austin Aries: A good tag match with plenty of back and forth. Aries got the win for his team with the 450, but after the match, Godderz and E. went at it. Is this the end of their team?
TNA Tag Team Tournament Final Ultimate X: Matt and Jeff Hardy vs. Low-Ki and Kenny King vs. Ethan Carter III and Bram w/ Tyrus vs. Bobby Roode and Austin Aries: Although Tyrus played heavy dividends for his team, it was Bram that kept them in the match. Aries and Roode, however, had their own shot at the title, but the BDC wasn’t above cheating either. Once things settled down, King and Matt Hardy were on the ladder until Hardy hit the Twist of Fate off of it. That allowed Matt and Jeff to both climb up the ladders and claim the TNA Tag Team Titles for the first time in their careers.
