Teases for big matches and lots of talking, this week’s Monday Night RAW tried its hardest to get fans excited for Extreme Rules, but did little enticing to spice things up.
Check out this week’s WWE RAW Power Rankings to see who went into Extreme Rules this weekend with the most momentum on their side.
Honorable Mention: The New Day: You may not have liked how it happened, but The New Day are the #1 contender’s for the WWE Tag Team titles and will get a shot against Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. Behind Xavier Woods’ recent heel tactics, The New Day are riding possibly their hottest streak since they formed a few months ago. Is it enough to get the Tag Team title though?
Keep Your Eyes On: Fandango: In his first match without Rosa Mendez by his side, Fandango made quick work of Curtis Axel. While it was a quick encounter that was far from a match of the year contender, it’ll be interesting to see what’s next for Fandango.
5: Roman Reigns: After destroying Bo Dallas this week on RAW with a Superman Punch and Spear, Reigns promised he’d bring a “big fight†for The Big Show in their Last Man Standing match at Extreme Rules.
4: Naomi: Her win over Brie Bella this week puts her in a prime place to challenge for Nikki Bella’s Divas Championship. Although her new persona change isn’t the most charismatic, it’s hard to ignore her potential in the ring.
3: John Cena: His win over Kane wasn’t a sexy one, and while Cena would have been better suited to take on a NXT star or another hungry youngster, he’s still hungry for his match with Rusev at Extreme Rules.
2: Randy Orton: “The Viper†hit RKOs on plenty of WWE Superstars and provided some of the only cool moments on this week’s RAW. But without his signature finisher against Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules, how much of a threat can he really be?
1: Seth Rollins: The WWE Champion is petrified of Randy Orton, but don’t let that fool you. With a ton of charisma and plenty of support for The Authority, Rollins isn’t about to give up the WWE World Heavyweight title anytime soon.
