Review Fix Exclusive: Get Busy Living Frontman Chase Peterson Talks ‘The Feeling!’ and More

Review Fix chats with Get Busy Living Frontman Chase Peterson, who discusses the band’s new EP, single and goals for 2016. A pop-punk trio in the vein of Blink 182 and Good Charlotte, their polish and sound will take older ears back to their High School days.

Review Fix: How did the band get together?

Chase Peterson: Back in 2008 the band actually started as Kiss and Tell when former bands had broken up.

Review Fix:
What do you think separates you guys from other bands?

Peterson: I think having a frontman and a drummer that sings is a big thing and people always talk about it.

Review Fix: How important is social media to you guys?

Peterson: Social media is a huge deal because now it’s one of the biggest ways kids and people can find you and hear you.

Review Fix:
How are your live shows different than your studio work?

Peterson: We are for sure very high energy and funny and interact with people. Live we can really go all out.

Review Fix: What’s the band’s creative process like?

Peterson: Basically Jonny and myself bring our ideas together at practice. I’ll play a riff over and over and he will just jam drum ideas out till it fits. Lyrics come and go throughout the whole thing. A lot of the times we rewrite lyrics in the hotel the night before vocals and try them out.

Review Fix: Why did you guys cover “Fight Song”? What makes your version different?

Peterson: We wanted to do a big top pop song and Jonny found it, we loved the meaning behind the song. Our version just had some good old pop punk riffs and vocals, driving drums and killer strings. Just had more energy than the original.

Review Fix: What are your goals for the Timing is Everything EP?

Peterson: Goals for it would be getting radio play more, good reviews, label interest and just good feedback from the fans.

Review Fix:
What’s the standout song on the EP? How was it written?

Peterson: That is a hard question, but I would say our single ” The Feeling.” It was written by jamming the chorus riff for hours haha, the lyrics changed completely when we hit the studio. It brought back memories from high school and touring, we had so many good times.

Review Fix: How do you want this EP to be remembered?

Peterson: I’d like for this EP to be remembered for getting us to the next level in our music career. I want the world to know who we are from this and for it to make people want more.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Peterson: Touring in 2016 is next, hopefully finding a fourth member. Touring with larger label bands, festivals etc. We want to take the world by storm.
