RECAP OF THE 58TH ANNUAL GRAMMY’S

The 58th annual Grammy Awards show was oversaturated with tributes, duets, and country music — featuring less-than-stellar performances by Adele, Justin Bieber, and The Weeknd. Kendrick Lamar, however, won not only five awards, but easily stole the show and captivated the audience with his performance. Here’s what went down:

Taylor Swift opened the show with her latest single, “Out of the Woods.” Ariana Grande introduced The Weeknd to the Grammy’s stage. He started with “Can’t Feel My Face” and segued into a haunting, stripped-down version of his most recent single, “In The Night.” Selena Gomez introduced fellow Taylor Swift squad-member Ellie Goulding and Andra Day for a mash-up of “Love Me Like You Do” and “Rise Up.” The biggest winner of the night, Kendrick Lamar, gave the performance of a lifetime during the telecast, where he performed “The Blacker the Berry” and “Alright.”
