Five Things We’d Love to See in Disney Infinity 3.0

On March 1, Disney Interactive took to a live stream to make a special announcement – the company will skip releasing a new “Disney Infinity” game for 2016, instead, they have elected to support 3.0 with new figures and play sets.

Along with this announcement, Disney Interactive revealed three brand new Marvel figures that will be playable in the new Marvel Battlegrounds play set: Vision, Ant-Man and Black Panther.

All of these exciting announcements has wallets around the world rejoicing as fans of the number one toys-to-life game don’t have to buy a new starter pack this year; however, it does not mean those wallets won’t take a beating.

This extended support for 3.0 has us thinking about a wish list of figures and play sets we would like Disney Interactive and Avalanche Studios would give fans to get lost in their Toy Boxes.

Doctor Strange Play Set

First on the docket is the Sorcerer Supreme, nothing would be more exciting than a play set featuring Doctor Stephen Strange. Being that Battlegrounds is a pseudo-“Civil War” play set, it’s only right we get a play set for Marvel’s other big 2016 release.

Packing Strange with Baron Mordo would be an intriguing combination that gives players a unique opportunity to explore the world of magic in the Marvel universe.

Rogue One Play Set

This is an obvious choice considering 3.0 already has three Star Wars themed play sets. “Rogue one: A Star Wars Story” as a film looks to build on what “The Force Awakens” brought to fans across the world and nothing would compliment that more than a “Disney Infinity” play set.

Details regarding “Rogue One” have been mum – what we do know is the story is it is about the theft of the Death Star plans. A story like this in video game form will have Star Wars fans of old playing with their kids with a special sense of euphoria.

Blue Light Saber Rey Figure

If you have no seen “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” like the rest of the world, spoiler alert, Rey is a Jedi.

Now, there is already a Rey figure, but like Captain America, she needs a second figure. Being that Ahsoka is the only female figure with a light saber available, it is time to give fans an opportunity to play as the Jedi of the new trilogy. Her raw power would translate well to the game and echo those of Anakin Skywalker, while shadowing Luke Skywalker’s unpolished technique.

Finding Dory Play Set

This is exciting. An underwater play set. How great would it be to travel the oceans with Dory, Marlen and Nemo?

This proposed play set does raise the question of how do you incorporate other figures into this play set. Although this is an issue, the prospect of building an underwater world to explore in the context of “Disney Infinity” is just too good to pass up.

Daredevil Figure

Of all the things on this wish list, this is probably the least likely to come to fruition, A Daredevil figure. The reason being Disney Infinity is a family friendly game while the Daredevil show is not-so family friendly, but one can dream.

Daredevil’s fighting skills would be welcome in the Battlegrounds play set, although he would probably play a lot like the Iron Fist figure, the Hell’s Kitchen native can bring a much more grounded approach to the game has not been seen outside of characters like Hawkeye.

Are there any figures or play sets you would like to see in “Disney Infinity 3.0?” Let us know in the comments below.
