Disney Interactive’s Bold New Move in Marvel Battlegrounds

Today’s gaming culture is all about the add-on (Thank you Elder Scrolls Online, Dragon Age and The Following) and the newest expansion for Disney Interactive’s Disney Infinity 3.0 takes their beloved series to a whole new world with “Marvel Battlegrounds.”

With new move sets for 28 characters and eight stages to battle in, “Marvel Battlegrounds,” which also allows players to play as new characters Ant-Man, Black Panther and The Vision, is epic in effort and scale. Feeling like a combination of “Super Smash Bros.” and the Dreamcast classic, “Powerstone,” it’s an -arcade-infused brawler best played with four players. Large enough for a solo release, Disney Interactive instead opted to keep everything in the same house.

“Disney Infinity is what we’re concentrating on. It’s what we’re building,” Ryan Rothenberger, Sr. Producer, Disney Infinity told Examiner. “There’s a magic to Infinity and putting the toy down and having it live in its own ecosystem. People are familiar with it and we truly want to make our fans happy. We know they invested in this and we wanted to try something new, but we didn’t want to punish people and force them to spend more money. This is something for fans to relish in. There wasn’t even a discussion. This was going to be a part of the Infinity family from the get-go.”
