The debut of Moose in Impact Wrestling made up for a lack of clear conclusions in two of the night’s biggest matches. Seeing the former NFL and ROH star destroy Lashley and the look on Mike Bennett’s face was awesome. With the move to Thursday night and some new drama, Impact has plenty of momentum.
Matches:
#1 Contendership for X-Division title: Zema Ion vs. Mandrews vs. Braxton Sutter vs. Rockstar Spud vs. Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett w/Shane Helms: This was a high-flying encounter for sure with plenty of action. While Sutter hit some nice power moves and Mandrews was solid, Helms played a huge role and nearly got his team the win on several occasions. Ion eventually got the win after he threw Everett out of the ring and hit a nice Spike DDT. After the match, Michael Bennett attacked Ion from behind.
TNA Tag Team Champion Abyss w/Crazy Steve vs. Bram: Solid back and forth as Abyss almost won with a Chokeslam, but after Rosemary hit the ring and distracted Abyss, Bram got the win with the School Boy.
Four-Way: Martie Bell vs. Jade vs. Gail Kim vs. Knockouts Champion Sienna w/Ally: Lots of back and forth as every competitor hit their finishers. Bell, in particular, was solid, hitting a Pedigree, but Sienna won after she hit Kim with The Pounce.
Mike Bennett w/Maria Kanellis vs. Zema Ion: After a show of solidarity from the X-Division, Ion was able to get the win with a Rollup variation.
Street Fight: Ethan Carter III vs. Drew Galloway: These guys beat the ever-loving crap out of one another in a war that went all over the Impact Zone and ended with no conclusion.
Title For Title: X-Division Champion Eddie Edwards w/Davey Richards vs. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley: This was a solid match and Edwards almost won on a few occasions (Richards helped at one point as they hit their Tag Team finish) until Bennett and the debuting Moose took out the referee and Lashley. Again, no conclusion. After the match, Dixie Carter announced that there will be a rematch with no interference because it’ll be a steel cage match.
