Five matches and plenty of promo for NXT Takeover Brooklyn made sure this week’s NXT was an enjoyable one, even with a lack of a big match feel. Powered by squash matches, NXT needs to continue to develop their mid-card, especially with so much talent in need of a reacquaintance with the audience following the brand extension. Regardless, it’s hard to argue with the card for Takeover Brooklyn, which is deeper than the WWE’s offering for Summerslam.

The Authors Of Pain w/Paul Alluring vs. Nails and Rob Ryzin: After Powerbombs on both Nails and Ryzin, AOP finished off Ryzin with the Russian Leg Sweep/Clothesline Combination. After the match, TM 61 hit the ring and they were obliterated as well.
Andrade “Cien†Almas vs. Angelo Dawkins: Almas got the win with the Double Knee and Hammerlock DDT variation in a squash win.
Billie Kay vs. Liv Morgan: Kay got the win with the Big Boot in a pretty bland women’s match.
Tucker Knight and Patrick Clark vs. Johnny Gargano and Tommasi Ciampa: Another squash match as Gargano and Ciampa hit their signature maneuvers and got the win with the Knee/Superkick combination.
NXT Champion Samoa Joe vs. Mojo Rawley: Joe got the win with the Kokina Clutch, even if Rawley lasted a lot longer than anyone expected and nearly won with a modified Full Nelson Slam. After the match, Joe put the Clutch back on and Shinsuke Nakamura hit the ring and with security in-between them, Nakamura played games, taking Joe’s “nose†and then slapping him in the face, a-la Bugs Bunny.

The sequel, The Padre: One Shell Straight to Hell was released in February 2021- Hickey also served as a Story Editor and Lead Voiceover performer. He has also done narration and trailers for several other titles including The Kaiju Offensive, Relentless Rex and Roniu’s Tale.
Hickey is also the lead voiceover performer on Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming title WrestleQuest, responsible for nearly 90 characters in the game, as well as Skybound's Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood, where he voices both Dracula and Renfield, as well as several other characters. He also stars in Ziggurat Interactive’s World Championship Boxing Manager 2, where he performs the VO of nearly every male character in the game. He also worked on the Atari VCS’s BPM Boy.
