Impact Wrestling Coverage: New Champions, But Lashley Retains

While the in-ring action was decent, the storyline between Decay and the Hardy Boys was easily the most entertaining element of this week’s Impact Wrestling. In spite of a new X-Division and Knockouts Champion, TNA has got to find a way to keep people’s eyes on the screen.

Matches:

Crazy Steve vs. “Broken” Matt Hardy w/Jeff Hardy: Matt got the win with the Twist of Fate after Jeff took off his boot and beat Steve with it on the outside. After the match, Steve told the Hardy’s that they kidnapped Matt’s son and that he’s now Rosemary’s baby.

Ultimate X Gauntlet Match: Mandrews vs. Zema Ion vs. Andrew Everett vs. Trevor Lee vs. Braxton Sutter vs. Rockstar Spud: A disappointment of a match that was more about spots than telling a story. After Everett and Lee fought over the title, Ion jumped up and stole the title to win it.

Ethan Carter III vs. Eli Drake: A pretty standard match that saw Carter win with the Headlock Driver.

Knockouts Champion Allie vs. Maria Kanellis: Allie was forced to lay down and give Kanellis the championship.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Mike Bennett w/Knockouts Champion Maria Kanellis and Moose: Bennett was in control early as Kanellis interfered every opportunity she could. However, Bennett could get the win after a Cutter and instead looked to Moose to help. When Moose denied the request, Lashley hit the Spear for the win. After the match, Bennett called out Moose but the former NFLer took out Bennett with a Clothesline.
