WWE Cruiserweight Classic Coverage: Ibushi and Metalik Advance

Two amazing matches led to the eliminations of Akira Tozawa and Brian Kendrick, leaving Gran Metalik and Kota Ibushi left as the WWE Cruiserweight Classic has just six competitors left.

Gran Metalik vs. Akira Tozawa: Metalik got the win with his trademark Metalik Driver, but Tozawa pushed him to the limit and nearly won with the Snap German Suplex and the Dead Lift German Suplex. With so many near-falls and spots, this was a fun encounter, but it was also vicious with plenty of strikes.

Brian Kendrick vs. Kota Ibushi: The fact that you thought Kendrick could win this at several point made it an entertaining match. From a Neckbreaker on the turnbuckle and his Sliced Bread #2, Kendrick wa son his game, working on Ibushi’s neck throughout. Ibushi turned the tables halfway through the match with a German Suplex using the second ropes to take Kendrick from the apron to the inside. Kendrick fought back however with a dangerous Burning Hammer and strikes, but Ibushi needed just another strike to even things up. After Ibushi missed the Phoenix Splash, Kendrick locked in the Bully Choke, but Ibushi escaped and hit the Golden Star Powerbomb for the win.
