The Best Reveals of 2016 NYCC

New York Comic Con is a great place to meet people that share a particular interest, a wonderful place to meet creators and the perfect place for companies to show what they’ve got up their sleeve for the upcoming year – this year was no different.

There were no bombshell reveals; however, that does not mean there were no welcome ones though. Fans at the con and those following around the world were treated with some fantastic trailers and reveals that are sure to keep fans elated as they anticipate these projects.

Here we rundown our five best reveals from New York Comic Con 2016.

5. Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe

There was a lot of speculation leading up to comic con regarding the Valiant and Bat in the Sun web series – speculation they help create with a series of teases and reveals including the announcement of Michael Rowe as Ninjak and Jason David Frank as Bloodshot, with their panel at the con they were able to blow the lid off.

Valiant announced a new division, Valiant Digital that will work in conjunction with Bat in the Sun to showcase the Valiant universe in live-action for the first time ever. Along with this announcement, a trailer was shown that was promptly released online that shows “Super Powered Beat Down’s” creators most ambitious project yet.

4. Power Rangers: Mega Battle

When it comes to video game announcements, NYCC is no E3, but we did see an exciting announcement for a new side-scrolling brawler: “Power Rangers: Mega Battle”

Based on the original series, “Power Rangers: Mega Battle,” looks like the party game 90s kids have been waiting for so they can give their “Broforce “a break. Set to release in Janurary 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One, a short time before the big-screen reboot, 2017 is shaping up to be morphenomenal.

3. Iron Fist

Riding high off of the success of “Luke Cage,” it was only right that Marvel and Netflix give fans a little taste of their latest collarboration, “Iron Fist.”

The last Defender, the new trailer showed what looked like another hit for Marvel and Netflix. Danny Rand played by Finn Jones taking out bad guys and punching through walls with his iron fist.

With Marvel’s incredible track record, there is no doubt they will be able to bring the living weapon to life with ease.

2. The Walking Dead

It is not a NYCC without huge “The Walking Dead” news, hell, everyone’s passes feature characters from the series and this year was no different.

Anticipation is high for the upcoming seventh season as the previous season ended on a cliffhanger that split the fan base in half – that anticipation was heightened with new footage that highlighted the upcoming battle between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

Expect fans to be watching this season with a replica Lucile on their side.

1. John Wick: Chapter 2

John Wick: Chapter 2 trailer. That is the end of this part of the piece.

Only kidding, when the first “John Wick” hit theaters a new cult hero was born and the world was reminded of just how awesome Keanu Reeves is, after all, he is the one.

The “John Wick: Chapter 2” trailer looks bigger in every sense of the word and has us wondering “who would go out and piss off the Boogeyman?”
