WWE RAW Coverage: Bayley Gets Shot at Flair, Goldberg Ready to Rumble

There were a few cool moments this week on RAW, including a rare Goldberg appearance and an awesome Last man Standing match between Braun Strowman and Sami Zayn that ensured the first RAW was a solid one. Away from a few throwaway segments, this week’s RAW began to set the table for what is going to be a special Royal Rumble.

Matches:

WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins: A great opening match as the two traded moves back and forth the entirety of the match. However, after Rollins sent Owens to the outside, the Universal Champion hit Rollins with the ring bell to lose via DQ. As a result of the win, Rollins was allowed to accompany Roman Reigns for his match with Chris Jericho later in the night.

WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Cesaro vs. Karl Anderson w/Luke Gallows: Another solid back and forth as Anderson never looked out of place. Cesar’s athletic ability was showcased fully thanks to a litany of Elbows, Uppercuts, Suplexes and Drop Kicks. However, after Gallows knocked Cesaro off the top rope, Anderson hit a beautiful Diving Neckbreaker from the top rope for the win.

Last Man Standing: Braun Strowman vs. Sami Zayn: Strowman got the win with a Running Powerslam on the outside and completely decimated Zayn, blowing up his eye and hurling him into the guard rail after medical personnel tried to stretcher Zayn out of the arena. Zayn gave Strowman a fight and a half, but Strowman definitely made a statement.

Titus O’Neil vs. Xavier Woods w/Big E. Langston and Kofi Kingston: An awful match that O’Neil dominated, but Woods got the win with the Rollup counter.

Cedric Alexander w/Alicia Fox vs. Drew Gulak w/Tony Nese: Gulak took advantage of a distraction from Nese and won with a School Boy and some tights.

United States Champion Roman Reigns vs. Chris Jericho: Reigns got the win with the Spear after Jericho hit his head on the exposed turnbuckle in a match Jericho nearly won on several occasions.

Brian Kendrick vs. TJ Perkins: Kendrick was the heel as usual, but Perkins got the win with the Knee Bar.

Colin Cassady w/Enzo Amore vs. Rusev and Jinder Mahal: The numbers game caught up as Rusev won with the Running Kick.

#1 Contenders Match for RAW Women’s Championship: Nia Jax vs. Bayley: Thanks to a distraction from Sasha Banks, Bayley hit the Belly-to-Bayley from the top rope for the win.
