NXT Coverage: Mid-Card Mayhem Before Takeover Orlando

With vignettes and promos for Takeover Orlando and a lack of big names this week on NXT, the middle of the card stepped up and provided a small glimpse of what the future could look like post Wrestlemania.

Matches:

Johnny Gargano w/Tommaso Ciampa vs. Dash Wilder w/ Scott Dawson vs. NXT Tag Team Champion Akam w/NXT Tag Team Champion Rezar and Paul Ellering: Gargano was his usual five-star self, working his tail off to ensure a quality matchup. With all the faces at ringside things got hairy though, and Wilder stole the old-school heel win thanks to help from Dawson.

Heavy Machinery: Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic vs. Mike Marshall and Jonathan Ortagun: A squash match, but a fun one as Dozovic earned the win after he slammed Knight on their opponents.

Loser Leaves NXT: Elias Sampson vs. Kassius Ohno: Sadly, this was Sampson’s best match in NXT. He understood where he was in the rig and the overall pacing was solid. Ohno got the win with the Death By Elbow.
