Tons of X-Division matches and the LAX/El Patron fueled a weak episode of GFW Impact that did little to propel any excitement. They’re definitely trying, but they’re not even close, yet.
Matches:
Super X Cup First Round: Drago vs. Sammy Guevara: An excellent back and forth with a wild amount of spots. After Drago hit the 620, Guevara kicked out, but Drago hit the Running DDT variation for the win.
GFW/TNA Unified Women’s Champion Sienna vs. Amber Nova: Nova fought hard but Sienna won with the Ak-47 for the win in Non-Title action. There was some drama after the bell as a bevy of faces hit the ring. Eventually, Rosemary got a title shot in a Last Woman Standing match.
Lucha Libre Match: Demus, Idris Abraham and Trevor Lee vs. Laredo Kid, Garza Jr and Octagoncito: Lots of spots in a match that didn’t tell a story. Just wacky. Octagoncito won with the Modified Splash.
Matt Sydal vs. Low-Ki vs. El Hijo de Fantasma: Sydal got the win in a great match with the Shooting Star Press. After the match, Bruce Pritchard yapped and Lashley hit the ring, demanded a rematch for the Unified title and Speared Sydal.
Eli Drake w/Chris Adonis vs. Ethan Carter III vs. Moose vs. Eddie Edwards: A match Carter should have won, but Drake, ever the opportunist won after Moose took out EC3 after he took out Edwards with the One Percenter.
