Review Fix Exclusive: Matt LeGrand Talks All Good And More

Review Fix chats with singer Matt LeGrand, who breaks down his new “All Good” Single and lets us know how his sound has changed over the past two years.

Review Fix: What have the last two years been like?

Matt LeGrand: I’d like to start by saying thank you for having me. Many things have changed in the last two years in my world. I moved all my work from Chicago to Atlanta. It’s been such an amazing experience so far working in a city with so much energy! I completely changed who I was working with. So, when I met my new team in Atlanta we took some time to develop who I am as an artist. Now we are at the exciting point where we feel ready to get me out there! Overall the past two years have been a blast. A roller coaster of hard work, mistakes, good times, and bad times. I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s all part of living and learning.

Review Fix: How is “All Good” different from “Spring Break Girl”?

LeGrand: To me it’s night and day. The development and maturity are really unbelievable. I really am proud of myself. Some of my happiest moments are when I recognize and see my growth. That moment when you look back on where you started, then look at where you are presently, and then look at how much more you have on your journey. I’m completely different today then I was a month ago. I’m extremely happy with my persistence. Everyday I’m getting closer and closer to what I really want to accomplish. It’s all about small steps.

Review Fix: How was “All Good” written?

LeGrand: “All Good” was written by this incredible team down in Atlanta. I had a studio session with this team and they were showing us what kind of ideas they came up with for my project. Ironically, All Good was not a song that was intended for me to record. They played a whole bunch of songs. We listened and talked a little, but then we decided to head out. As we were about to leave, the producer played this song. My manager and I stopped at the door and asked what that was. It happened to be “All Good” my first single in about two years! Just to think that we almost walked out on that song makes me sick to my stomach lol. I didn’t write “All Good” but it was very easy for me to relate to. The song came to me at a time in my life where everything it was saying just made so much sense to me. It’s very strange how things like that come about. The songs about being ok with yourself. I fell in love with that message, as I know many other people will.

Review Fix: Who do you think will like this song the most?

LeGrand: Teenagers that are just coming into young adulthood. The song has a youthful sound. The beat is a flowy, Caribbean, feel good vibe. Ultimately, my goal is to turn a bad day into a good one or turn a good day into an excellent one. And you can have a bad day at any age. So actually, I’d say “All Good” is for everyone!

Review Fix: How have you grown as a musician since the last time we spoke?

LeGrand: Like I said before, I’m different then I was a month ago. The growth is unbelievable. Things I never thought I could do, I am doing now. When I decided to take on music full time as my career I lost my way a bit. It went from a hobby to just strictly work. It took me a while to find that balance of work and fun. There was a point when I just looked at it as a job and it really took the fun out of it. I had to remind myself that I don’t have to sing and play music, but rather I get to do it. I’m at a place now where I have found a really nice balance!

Review Fix: What’s next?

LeGrand: There is so much coming! We are getting ready to release some more songs. Putting together an artist showcase for industry people. Recording lots of new material. Working all of my social media pages. Getting ready for Live performances and interviews with top notch magazines and blogs. Exciting things coming!
